Textile Bundle - Slow Stitching, Textile Baskets and complimentary Creative Mending workshop
Explore colours, textures and fabrics with these self-paced creative textile workshops
These three workshops all cover aspects of recycling fabrics and other materials. They are low cost and need very few tools - just a needle, thread and sharp scissors. You can source all your materials from old clothes and the frith shop.
Please note these creative workshops are for personal use only and are not to be used or replicated in a commercial manner. By enrolling in a Craft School Oz online course you agree to this.
Ruth has always been a crafter - and one that loves to pass on her love for creating. She trained as a clothing designer in the UK, working with textiles and fashion warehouses. When she came to Australia she graduated from Box Hill TAFE with a Diploma of Visual Arts and then completed a Bachelor of Adult Learning and Development at Monash University.
She has taught art and crafts at a tertiary level and also through community education programs, some in very remote areas. She strongly believes in the need to facilitate opportunities for creative workshops in rural and regional communities. She knows first hand that people in these areas often don't often get the chance to participate in events like these, and being able to explore creativity in a supportive, safe space is an essential part of life.
Her interest in teaching, craft, and supporting regional areas became the perfect foundation for what is now this wonderful crafty community. And now bringing online workshops means everyone can access what she teaches.
